TMS Hotel Da Nang Beach Review
At $65 a night with a Han River view room and a rooftop pool, the TMS Hotel is the kind of find that makes you wish you'd known about it earlier.
I stayed at the TMS on a work trip to Da Nang where the budget was tight and I didn't want to spend a week in a windowless shoebox. The TMS solved that problem: river-view rooms on the upper floors look directly at the Han River and Dragon Bridge, the rooftop pool has a proper panoramic view, and the location is 5 minutes walk from everything you'd want to do in central Da Nang.
The rooms are functional rather than memorable — this isn't a design hotel, and the furniture doesn't pretend otherwise. But they're clean, well-maintained, and the upper river-facing categories have a view that genuinely competitive hotels charge $40–50 more per night for. There's no major loyalty programme and the service is more variable than at the international brands, but at $65/night in central Da Nang with that rooftop, the trade-offs are easy to accept.
For anyone doing Da Nang on a city-focused trip with a sensible budget: the TMS is worth checking rates for before you commit to the Brilliant or the Novotel alternatives. It often undercuts them by a meaningful margin for a broadly similar experience.
Location & Getting There
Han River, central Da Nang. Walk to Dragon Bridge. Walk to Bach Dang Street seafood. Walk to Han Market. Same central city position as the Hilton and Novotel at a much lower rate. Beach 4km east — Grab for a beach day. Airport 20 minutes.
The Rooms
City-hotel rooms at 35–40sqm. Functional, clean, not particularly distinctive. River-facing rooms on upper floors are the reason to be here — the Han River view at night, with the Dragon Bridge visible, is one of Da Nang's better city-hotel room views and the TMS charges less for it than most competitors. Lower floors and non-river rooms are fine for the rate but the view is just urban rooftops. Rates from $65–85/night.
Pool, Beach & Facilities
Rooftop pool and bar with Han River views — small, more about the setting than the swimming, but a genuine evening asset. Gym is adequate for the rate. No beach access on property.
Food & Drink
Breakfast handles the basics. The rooftop bar does reasonable cocktails with a good view — worth using for the Dragon Bridge lighting shows on Friday/Saturday nights. For proper dining: Bach Dang Street seafood is walkable, and the Han Market area has good street food accessible on foot.
The TMS makes the value argument more convincingly than most of its Han River competitors. The view-to-rate ratio is hard to beat in this city. Check it before committing to the Brilliant or Novotel.

Who Should Stay Here
Budget-to-mid-range travellers who want a Han River view and central location without Hilton pricing. Good for short city stays of 2–4 nights.
