The rooftop infinity pool at A La Carte is genuinely impressive — but the better reason to stay here is that you get an actual apartment rather than a hotel room, for the price of a hotel room.

I first came to A La Carte for the view. A friend had posted a photo from the rooftop pool showing the full My Khe beach stretch at sunset and I wanted to see it in person. The pool lives up to it.

But what I didn't expect was how much I'd appreciate the all-suite format. Entry-level studios have a separate living area and a kitchenette. The larger two-bedroom apartments are essentially a full Da Nang flat for the week. On a longer stay — and this is genuinely a long-stay hotel in character if not in policy — the ability to buy fruit and coffee from the market downstairs and not be dependent on hotel breakfast pricing is a quality-of-life improvement that compounds daily.

The My Khe beach access is direct. An Thuong restaurants are a 5-minute Grab away. The Sky Bar on the rooftop does sunset cocktails with the full coastal view. For the price, it's a genuinely compelling package — especially if you're staying for five nights or more.

Location & Getting There

Northern end of My Khe, about 4km south of the city centre. This is one of the more central beach positions in Da Nang — An Thuong is minutes away, the Han River restaurants and Dragon Bridge are 15 minutes. Airport at 15 minutes. The beach frontage is one of the longer private stretches on the northern My Khe section.

The Rooms

Every room is a suite — this is not a standard hotel with a few suites available. Studio suites start around 50sqm with separate living and sleeping areas and a kitchenette. Two-bedroom apartments reach 100sqm+. The ocean-facing balconies are standard across categories. Furnishings are comfortable and functional — the honest note is that some categories veer toward IKEA-adjacent, which is the main criticism at the rates. But the space and the format compensate substantially. Rates from around $90–130/night, representing strong value given the suite format.

Pool, Beach & Facilities

The rooftop infinity pool is the visual headline and it earns it — the view over My Khe from the roof is genuinely good. Sky Bar on the same floor does cocktails and light food. Direct beach access at ground level. Fitness and spa facilities are limited compared to the resort tier but adequate for most guests' needs.

Food & Drink

La Mer Restaurant handles breakfast and main dining. Breakfast is solid if not extensive. The Sky Bar is the real F&B highlight — the sunset-to-dusk window up there is a ritual for guests and worth the elevator ride regardless of what you're drinking. For proper dining, An Thuong's proximity provides easy access to the best independent restaurants in Da Nang without requiring long taxi rides.

Fills a real gap in the Da Nang market. The suite format and kitchen access are the primary differentiators, not the facilities. Right for the right traveller profile, and the rooftop remains one of the best views in Da Nang at any category.

The Good Stuff

  • All-suite format — more space than standard hotel rooms at comparable My Khe rates
  • Rooftop infinity pool and Sky Bar view is a genuine experience
  • Kitchenette access suits longer stays and self-catering
  • Central My Khe position — better city access than Non Nuoc
  • Good value for the space and beach access combination

Worth Knowing

  • Interior design feels less premium than the rate might suggest in some categories
  • Limited resort-style facilities compared to full beach resort tier
  • Smaller beach frontage than dedicated resort properties

Who Should Stay Here

Digital nomads, longer-stay travellers, families wanting self-catering options, and visitors who prioritise living space over resort-scale facilities. Also worth it purely for the rooftop pool experience.
