Four Points by Sheraton Danang
A four-star beach hotel that quietly out-cooks and out-drinks the five-stars on the same strip.
I did not expect much from the phrase "four-star beachfront hotel on My Khe." I have stayed at enough of them to know what that usually means: fine room, forgettable food, a pool you use twice. Four Points broke that pattern in the first eighteen hours, and it is the reason I keep sending people here.
I had eaten breakfast at the Pullman and the Sheraton Grand earlier that same week, so I was comparing plates, not memories. The live noodle station here beat both of them. That is not a small claim on a strip where the five-stars are supposed to win breakfast by default.
Then I went up to the Horizon Bar that evening and found a craft beer list running past 100 varieties, most of it brewed in Vietnam. I have not seen a beer list like it in any other Da Nang hotel, budget or five-star. For me, that alone changed how I'd rank this place.
Four Points does not try to be a resort. It knows exactly what it is, and it over-delivers in the two areas that mattered most to me: what I ate in the morning, and what I drank at night.

Comfortable, well-planned, forgettable
My room was spacious and modern, with a wall of glass and a small veranda facing the coastline. The bed was genuinely one of the better ones I have slept in at this price point in Da Nang, the Four Points Comfort Bed is a real brand strength and I understand why it gets singled out so often. I measured the room at close to 35 square metres, smaller than what the resort competition offers, but every bit of it was used well. The bathroom was clean and properly maintained, nothing more, nothing less.
The design itself is clean and current without being memorable. What I did notice was the difference between floors: my upper-floor, ocean-facing room stayed quiet, while a friend one floor down on the street side told me traffic noise reached her window past midnight.
Which room would I book again? A high floor facing the water. The premium over a street-side room is small, and it solves both the view and the noise problem in one move.
The craft beer rooftop
I went up to the Horizon Bar expecting a standard hotel rooftop, a few overpriced cocktails and a nice view. Instead I found a genuine craft beer list, more than 100 labels deep, most of them brewed in Vietnam. I worked through a handful over two nights and never repeated one. That is not something I say about many hotel bars in this city.
The view earns its keep on its own, but the beer list is what actually surprised me. I have not found anything close to it at another Da Nang hotel, five-star or otherwise.
If a serious beer list matters to your trip, this single amenity is enough to move Four Points up your list.
Directly on the sand, twelve minutes from everything
The beach was a short walk from the building, and my veranda looked straight down the coastline. The ground-level pool sits between the hotel and the sand. It's modest next to the five-star resort pools nearby, I checked, but it was clean and I never had trouble finding a lounger. For a four-star at these rates, I think that's the right trade. I wasn't paying resort prices for a resort-scale pool I'd have used once anyway.
My Grab to the airport ran about 12 minutes, and Dragon Bridge was another 12 from there. The My Khe restaurant strip was a five-minute walk, and I used it most nights, dozens of seafood grills and noodle shops within easy reach.
I was close enough to the city to explore easily, and directly on one of Da Nang's best urban beach stretches, without paying what the five-star resorts charge for the same fundamentals.
Build your morning around breakfast
Breakfast is the reason I keep coming back to this hotel. The spread runs across Vietnamese, Korean, Indian, and Japanese-leaning stations, and the live noodle station serving beef noodle soup was the one I returned to every single morning. There's an omelette station, a proper salad bar, good pastries, and vegan and vegetarian dishes built into the menu rather than added as an afterthought.
I don't usually build my day around a hotel buffet. I did here.
Dining beyond breakfast is limited, the restaurant runs a buffet format, so I ate off-property most evenings. Given the location, that felt like a feature rather than a problem. I walked the five minutes to the My Khe strip for dinner most nights.
Book it if, skip it if
If you're a Marriott Bonvoy member who wants points-earning at a beach hotel without paying Sheraton Grand or Marriott Resort rates, this is the clear fit, and I'd call it a solid redemption option too. If you want direct My Khe access, a reliable four-star room, and a real breakfast without resort pricing, I think you'll do well here. If a good beer list matters to your trip, you get a bonus nobody else on the strip is offering.
Skip it if you want resort-scale kids' facilities, or if you're after a quiet luxury escape as a couple. I'd point you to the five-star properties nearby for either of those. This hotel is built around reliability and value, not indulgence, and it never pretended otherwise while I was there.
What you give up
The rooms lean business-hotel generic. Comfortable and well equipped, but I wouldn't call the character memorable. The pool is modest compared to the five-star beachfront rivals nearby. Street noise reached the lower floors on the road side, based on what I heard from a friend staying there, so I'd request a high floor facing the water if I were you.
On-site dinner is limited to the buffet, so plan to eat off-property most nights. And the immediate beach strip felt busier and more commercialised to me than the quieter southern stretches of My Khe.
