Marriott vs InterContinental Da Nang
Two five-star resorts, two different ideas of luxury. One is easy and family-ready on Non Nuoc Beach; the other is dramatic and adults-first on Son Tra Peninsula.
The Marriott is easier and cheaper, and does family logistics better. The InterContinental is the hotel we'd tell a friend to actually travel to Da Nang for. The Son Tra setting, the private-feeling cove, La Maison 1888, and the sense that you're somewhere specific rather than in a resort strip put it in a different category.

Marriott rooms are conventional five-star: spacious, functional, some with direct beach or pool access from ground-floor villas. InterContinental rooms are built into the hillside with sea views from most categories and noticeably more design personality.

This is the InterContinental's real advantage: forested Son Tra hillside on one side, a private-feeling cove beach on the other. The Marriott sits on a flat, open stretch of Non Nuoc that's pleasant but shared with several neighboring resorts.

La Maison 1888 is the best hotel restaurant in Da Nang, a genuine MICHELIN-starred kitchen. The Marriott's food and beverage program is competent multi-outlet resort dining, nothing that would make anyone book the hotel specifically for it.

Different hotels for different trips
If you're traveling with kids or just want a straightforward, well-run beach resort without a premium price tag, book the Marriott. It does the fundamentals well and puts you closer to Marble Mountains and An Thuong.
But if budget isn't the deciding factor and you're traveling as a couple or an adult group, the InterContinental is the better hotel by a wide margin. The Son Tra setting, La Maison 1888, and the cliff-edge pool make it one of the few hotels in Da Nang people specifically travel here to experience.
