About That Pool
The rooftop infinity pool at A La Carte is the most photographed hotel feature on My Khe Beach, and the photographs are accurate. From the upper floor of a 22-floor tower, the pool appears to dissolve into the South China Sea below — the visual effect of water meeting water is properly achieved here, not a partial illusion that collapses once you're swimming in it.
I've been in hotel infinity pools that don't deliver on the promise. This one does.
The hotel itself is locally designed, boutique in character, 248 rooms — which is large for a boutique but small enough to avoid the anonymous scale of international chain properties on the same strip. Vietnamese-inspired design with warm tones and local artwork gives it real character compared to the chain hotels around it.
Breakfast is included in most rates and the beach is directly in front.
The Rooms
Contemporary Vietnamese design language — warm tones, local artwork, floor-to-ceiling windows, balconies on most categories. Ocean-facing rooms on upper floors are the obvious choice.
Entry-category rooms are on the smaller side; the view makes up for what the square footage doesn't deliver. The design is significantly more individual than the Pullman or Four Points on the same stretch.
The Rooftop and Beach
The rooftop pool gets crowded in peak season — 248 rooms filling in December through February means competition for loungers. Early mornings are the answer.
If you want the pool to yourself with My Khe Beach stretched below and the city quiet, be up before 7:30am. By 9 it fills.
The bar service can slow down during busy periods, which matters more at the pool than at a beach bar.
The beach directly below is managed well — sun lounger and umbrella service, good access from the hotel, a beachside bar on the sand. The seafood restaurant strip on the beach road is five minutes in either direction.
Breakfast and Eating
Breakfast included in most rates is a genuine plus — a wide Vietnamese and international spread that covers the essentials properly. The rooftop restaurant runs all-day dining and cocktails adjacent to the pool.
The local beach road strips carry the dinner burden competently without you ever needing to eat on-site if you'd rather be outside.
What to Know Before You Book
Airport is 10 minutes, Dragon Bridge 10 minutes by Grab. Central enough that city exploration is easy and beach proximity is direct.
This is one of the better all-in value calculations on My Khe: boutique design, included breakfast, an extraordinary rooftop pool, direct beach access, and rates that don't compete with the five-star tier. If the pool is the reason you're coming — and honestly, it might be — it earns every photograph taken of it.
- Rooftop infinity pool is the most visually striking hotel pool on My Khe Beach
- Vietnamese-inspired design gives it real character over chain competitors
- Breakfast included in most rates
- Direct beach access, well-managed beach service
- Central My Khe position — airport 10 min, restaurant strip walkable
- Rates that make the full-service five-star tier look excessive
- Rooftop pool crowded in peak season; go early or go late
- Entry room sizes are small; book upper-floor ocean-facing for the right experience
- Pool bar service slows during busy periods
- 248 rooms means this is large for a "boutique" in any strict sense
Would I Stay Again?
Yes. The pool is the reason most people book, but the hotel delivers consistently beyond it.
The design is thoughtful, the beach access is direct, the breakfast is solid, and the rates make it one of the most honest value propositions on My Khe Beach. I'd book an upper-floor ocean-facing room, set an early alarm for the pool, and not think too hard about the math.

Is A La Carte Da Nang Beach Hotel Worth It?
A La Carte Da Nang Beach is one of the My Khe strip's most recognisable independently branded hotels, the rooftop infinity pool is one of the most-photographed hotel amenities in Da Nang and has driven the property's social media profile significantly above what its size and category would normally warrant. For the Instagram era, it punches well above its weight.
The rooms are contemporary and comfortable, the beach access is direct, and the location is central on My Khe. Where it falls slightly short is in service consistency and food quality compared to international branded competitors at the same price.
For travellers who want a stylish, photogenic beachfront stay on a mid-range budget, it is absolutely worth it.
