What Mikazuki Is
Mikazuki is in Lien Chieu district, which is about 30 minutes from the main My Khe Beach strip and the city centre. The location is not incidental — the resort was built for a specific kind of guest: families with children who want waterpark days, Japanese and Korean travellers who want onsen protocols and proper teppanyaki, and people who want a self-contained resort world that doesn't require going elsewhere.
If you're in that category, Mikazuki over-delivers for the price. If you're not, it's a long way from everything.
The property is Japanese-operated with two waterparks (indoor and outdoor), two lazy rivers, a big wave pool, the HYPER SLIDE (marketed as the longest indoor slide in Vietnam, which opened December 2024), an onsen, a rooftop infinity pool with a bar, and five restaurants. There is nothing like it in Da Nang.
The Waterpark
Water park entry is included for hotel guests — not an add-on, built into the rate. The outdoor park has slides, the wave pool, and a lazy river.
The indoor section has the HYPER SLIDE and a second lazy river. On a hot day with children in tow, this is an extraordinary facility to have available without leaving your hotel.
Guests with kids consistently call out the waterpark as the reason they came and the reason they'd return. "Not too amazing" is the most critical single review I found — which tells you something about how consistently it performs.
The Onsen
The onsen follows authentic Japanese protocol: gender-segregated facilities, mineral hot spring water, indoor pools, dry sauna, steam room. The Himalayan salt sauna specifically gets called out in guest reviews — "felt so good" is the phrasing that keeps appearing.
This is not a Vietnamese spa with Japanese theming; it's the real structure of a Japanese communal bath experience, which is either exactly what you want or not your thing at all.
The Breakfast
One guest called it "by far our favourite breakfast of any hotel, ever." I'd temper that with the fact that the on-site restaurant food beyond breakfast gets mixed reviews — the Vietnamese dishes are consistently described as average, and the restaurant quality overall as "just okay level." The buffet breakfast, though: Japanese, American, Asian, Continental, with depth in each direction. The pho and banh mi are called out as the highlights in the Vietnamese section.
The Rooftop Pool
The rooftop infinity pool with a bar is the property's best pure relaxation space — "amazing rooftop pool and bar" is how guests describe it, with views over the surrounding area and sea in the distance. If you want to sit quietly with a drink and look at something beautiful, this is where you go when the waterpark feels like too much energy.
What to Know Before You Book
You're 30 minutes from the city by taxi. The Marble Mountains are five minutes away, which makes for an easy half-day visit.
Hoi An is 25 minutes. The beach shuttle to Non Nuoc Beach runs on a schedule — you're not walking to the sand.
If you're planning to eat at the hotel's restaurants for dinner, know that the food quality outside the breakfast buffet is average at best. For longer stays, you'll want some evenings out.
Some renovation work in the Hinode Garden Area started October 2025 — check current status before booking if this affects your room preference.
- Two waterparks included in the room rate — a genuine day-long facility for families
- Authentic Japanese onsen with Himalayan salt sauna — nothing else like this in Da Nang
- HYPER SLIDE (longest indoor slide in Vietnam) opened December 2024
- Rooftop infinity pool with bar for a quieter alternative to the waterpark
- Breakfast buffet is genuinely exceptional — Japanese, American, Asian, Continental
- Marble Mountains 5 min away; Hoi An 25 min south
- 30 min from Da Nang city centre and My Khe Beach — you're committing to the resort
- Restaurant food quality outside breakfast is average
- Beach requires a shuttle (2 km) — not a beachfront hotel
- Not suited to guests who want a conventional luxury resort experience
Would I Stay Again?
With children, absolutely. Without children and a specific interest in onsen, probably not — the location and food limitations become more significant without the waterpark as the draw.
But for families, this is one of the most distinctive and well-priced family resort experiences in Da Nang. No one else is doing this.

Is Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa Da Nang Worth It?
Mikazuki is one of the most unusual hotels in Da Nang, a Japanese-operated resort with a large onsen (hot spring) facility and a distinctly Japanese hospitality character. For travellers curious about Japanese resort culture or those who specifically want onsen access in Vietnam, it is a unique experience with no direct competition in Da Nang.
The water park and beach access are also strong selling points, making it one of the most diverse facility sets of any hotel in the city. Where it falls short for Western travellers is in the restaurant offering, which is strongly Japanese-focused and may not suit all tastes.
At its price point, it is good value for what it offers, and the Japan-Vietnam cultural fusion makes it a memorable stay.
Nearby Attractions & Getting Around
One of Da Nang's advantages as a destination is how compact it is, most major attractions are within 20–30 minutes of any hotel in the city. From Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa Da Nang, key landmarks and beaches are easy to reach by taxi or GrabCar, and both services are reliable, metered, and inexpensive by international standards.
- My Khe Beach, On-site. Direct beach access on the My Khe coastal strip.
- Dragon Bridge, 15 min taxi. Da Nang's iconic landmark, easy taxi from the hotel.
- Han River, 15 min taxi. Riverside dining and evening promenade.
- Marble Mountains, 20 min taxi south. Five marble hills with temples, caves, and city views.
- My Khe Restaurant Strip, 5 min walk. Seafood restaurants and local eateries along the beachfront road.
- Hoi An Ancient Town, 30 min by car. The essential UNESCO Heritage day trip.
