What You Notice First
The Melia Danang photographs well — all-white facade, dramatic vertical gardens running down the building, a pool complex that does the thing pools on Non Nuoc Beach are supposed to do. What you find on arrival is that it also looks good in person, which isn't always true of hotels that have been photographed to death on Instagram.
The scale is right. With only 109 rooms, the resort doesn't overwhelm itself — the pools don't feel industrial, the beach service is attentive, and the staff-to-guest ratio stays in a place where people actually notice you.
The Rooms and The Level
Entry-level Deluxe Sea View rooms are around 55 square metres with large balconies looking over the pool and ocean. The design is contemporary with Spanish touches — terracotta accents, plant walls, a colour palette that's warm rather than clinical.
Bathrooms have rainfall showers and freestanding tubs in the higher categories. These are proper rooms, not just boxes with views.
The Level is a programme that deserves more than a bullet point. Level suite guests get a private dedicated reception area (no main lobby check-in), an exclusive lounge with afternoon snack buffets, "surprise goodnight treats" delivered to the room, twice-daily service, and a warmth that runs above the already-good baseline staff.
Multiple guests call it the highlight of their stay. One describes it as "amazing." Another, a UK traveller who had a difficult experience, advises people to avoid it.
The truth is probably somewhere between: the Level experience depends partly on which staff are running it on a given day. When it's good, it's notably good.
The Pools
A long infinity pool with ocean views, a family pool, and an adults-only pool. The design is striking — this is the pool that shows up in architecture magazines and travel photography.
Maintained to a high standard, rarely overcrowded given the small room count. The Level lounge sends cold soft drinks down to guests at the pool without being asked.
Small detail; good detail.
One honest note: some guests have reported noise from room neighbours through the walls. Soundproofing is a recurring complaint across multiple reviews — not universal, but consistent enough to mention.
If you're a light sleeper, consider this.
Food and Drink
El Meson runs Spanish-influenced Mediterranean and Vietnamese cuisine in an open-sided setting. The breakfast buffet has a "very good variety" — salads at breakfast that guests specifically call out, which sounds odd until you eat them.
The Spanish culinary influence gives the Melia a more distinctive dining identity than most Da Nang resorts. The Marble Mountains are five minutes away if you want to venture out; Hoi An is 30 minutes south by car.
What to Know Before You Book
The city is 13 km north — 25 minutes by taxi, costs adding up if you do it every day. The Non Nuoc Beach position is quieter and cleaner than the main My Khe strip, which is either a feature or a bug depending on what you want from a beach holiday.
If your goal is a resort stay — pool, beach, good food, quality spa — the Melia delivers all of it without asking you to spend what the InterContinental charges. If you want to eat at street food markets every night, you'll spend a lot of time in taxis.
- Only 109 rooms — pools and beach never feel overcrowded
- The Level programme is genuinely elevated when it's working well
- Infinity pool design is among Da Nang's most striking
- Quiet Non Nuoc Beach — calmer and cleaner than My Khe strip
- Room sizes generous; 55sqm entry level is above average
- Spanish culinary influence at El Meson gives dining a distinct character
- Soundproofing between rooms — a recurring complaint in reviews
- 13 km from city; taxi costs accumulate over a long stay
- Peak season availability limited — book early for Level suites
- Level experience varies by staff — when it's off, the premium is harder to justify
Would I Stay Again?
In a Level suite, yes. The combination of the small-resort scale, the pool design, the Non Nuoc Beach setting, and what the Level programme delivers when it's at its best makes this one of the more considered choices in the Da Nang mid-luxury tier.
It's not trying to be the InterContinental — it sits in a different price band and a different mode. On its own terms, it's very good.

Is the Melia Danang Beach Resort Worth It?
The Melia Danang Beach Resort is one of the most architecturally distinctive properties on the My Khe strip, its Spanish-brand design sensibility gives it a visual identity that stands apart from the generic luxury resort aesthetic. The beach club is genuinely good, the adults-only pool is a strong offering for couples, and the spa is well-regarded.
Where it is less competitive is on family facilities, families with children would be better served by the Hyatt Regency or Sheraton Grand. For couples, design enthusiasts, and Melia loyalty members wanting a sophisticated beachfront resort with strong F&B, the answer is yes, it is worth it.
